Norbit 2 is a 2024 comedy/romance/tragedy/science fiction/action/mystery/political thriller/hardcore pornography film directed by Brian Robbins and co-written, co-produced, co-directed, filmed, lit, costumed, with sets designed by, and starring Eddie Murphy, Eddie Murphy, Eddie Murphy and Eddie Murphy. It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed film Norbit, and credited with permanently ending Eddie Murphy's career. It was released by the horrible evil that dwells within humanity on November 31, 2024. Each Eddie Murphy portrays several roles including the titular Norbit, Norbit 2, Norbit 3, Son of Norbit, Norbit's Father, Norbit's Mother, Norbit's Polygamous Second Mother, Baby Norbit, Teenage Norbit, Future Norbit, British Norbit, the Norbit Particle Cloud, Norbit's Dog Chowder, the Pizza Guy, and their abusive obese ex-wives The Rasputia Collective. Norbit and his wife Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton) are happily married, until his ex-wife Rasputia's alternate universe generator causes Norbits and Rasputias from alternate realities to appear. Norbit must team up with his clones to take down Rasputia's new evil empire, before the world is changed forever.
The film was a box office success, grossing $2.8 trillion worldwide against a production budget of $20 and an old bottlecap. It killed every film critic that tried to watch it, and a clip of the movie played at the Academy Awards caused 5 additional deaths and 62 injuries. The movie is dedicated to the memory of Charlie Murphy who died upon hearing they were going to make it.
Plot

In 1945 a German pilot leaves on a suicide flight as the Allies are capturing Berlin, carrying a mysterious crystal. As he flies over the Bermuda Triangle, he becomes lost in a storm, and his plane ends up crashing in the Gulf of Mexico.
80 years later, Norbit Albert Rice and his wife Kate Thomas (played by Thandiwe Newton) are celebrating their 18th anniversary. Kate Thomas (who is portrayed by Thandiwe Newton) asks Norbit if he ever thinks about his ex-wife Rasputia Latimore, to which he says "only in my nightmares." He then recounts a recurring dream he's had where an army of Rasputias chase him down a highway, and he begins to have a panic attack. His wife, Kate Thomas (played by the talented Thandiwe Newton), attempts to calm him down, but Norbit leaves the house to be alone.
Meanwhile, in Mexico, Rasputia (Eddie Murphy) and other character Deion (Cuba Gooding Jr.) are overseeing an archaeological expedition in which the workers are toiling as slaves. One of the workers unearths the crystal from the opening scene, and Rasputia grabs it from him greedily. Deion asks Rasputia if this is the key to her revenge, to which Rasputia points the crystal towards a group of workers, turning them into dust, and smiles. She hands the crystal to Deion and instructs her to prepare the device.
Perspective returns to Norbit, who is drinking in a location from the first movie with his friend Lloyd the Dog (voiced by Eddie Murphy, out of respect to Charlie Murphy). Norbit asks Lloyd if he ever wished he was someone else, which draws the attention of the bartender, Danny Trejo from Machete, who tells him to be careful what he wished for. Norbit drunkenly leaves to drive home, but due to the heavy rain and his reckless driving, he is killed in a fatal traffic collision.
Deion pulls a curtain off a massive portal that looks like the Stargate from Stargate and introduces it as the Alternate Universe Generator, capable of generating any alternate universe that someone in this universe would want to alternatively generate. Rasputia faces the camera and outlines her plan to generate an alternate universe where she and Norbit were still married and also she was queen of the entire world. As she inputs the instructions for the alternate universe, she lets out a massive fart, which causes the machine to wildly malfunction and begin generating hundreds of pairs of Norbit and Rasputia. During the chaos, the Norbits manage to escape from the facility and are unleashed upon the Mexican landscape. Rasputia apparently kills Deion in anger over the machine's destruction.
Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton gives a really emotional performance) grieves over the body of her husband Norbit in the morgue. As she weeps, a television in the corner is showing a news report about how hundreds of people that look like the guy from Norbit are roaming the Mexican countryside. She gets in her car and drives to Mexico to find a Norbit like her husband.
Meanwhile, the Rasputias have all organized and formed a hierarchy, as well as a plan, to get back the Norbits. Their plan is to beat the shit out of everyone in Mexico until they hand over Norbit. Deion, having overheard Rasputia's plan, escapes to warn the authorities, but Kate Thomas (channeling the energy of a furious Thandiwe Newton) hits him with her car and knocks him unconscious. As she attempts to lift him, Norbit 2 (Eddie Murphy), Norbit 3 (Eddie Murphy), and British Norbit (Eddie Murphy) see her and help her transport Deion to the hospital. There, they explain the alternate reality generation plot to Kate Thomas (with an incredible perplexed reaction provided by the infinitely talented Thandiwe Newton), and she tells them the original Norbit is already dead. Distraught, the Norbits console her by pledging to do their best to woo her.
Deion partially awakens, but he's unable to communicate with the group due to his injuries. While they wait, the Norbits break down the rules to each other. Each of them will get 3 dates with Kate Thomas (who is played by the absolutely gorgeous Thandiwe Newton) to attempt to prove to her that they have what it takes to be her husband. Their moment is cut short when the hospital is attacked by an army of Rasputias. The Norbits get into a 30 minute gun fight through the hospital as they make their escape with Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton's choreography throughout this scene is on point). They narrowly manage to evade capture by the Rasputias by boarding an extremely effective public transportation option in the form of a high speed train, granting them access to places across the country at little cost to themselves. On the train, they travel to Mexico City, where they decide to each have their first dates.
Then there is a montage set to Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter where the Norbits take Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton who is having the time of her life on this movie and you can tell in her acting) on their first dates, while Rasputia tries to capture them. Norbit 2 takes Kate Thomas (you guessed it, it's really Thandiwe Newton) bike riding through the park, while the Rasputias attempt to foil them by painting a tunnel entrance onto a rock. Much to their surprise, the couple sails through unharmed, causing grievous injury to the Rasputias who try to follow them. Norbit 3 takes Kate Thomas (none other than Thandiwe Newton) to the movie theater to watch Norbit 2. while the Rasputias close off the entrances and attempt to set fire to the movie theater. As the theater burns down they discover the couple have already walked out of the movie in disgust, and they are arrested for the deaths of 283 people. British Norbit takes Thandiwe Newton (Thandiwe Newton) to Wimbledon to watch tennis. The Rasputias attempt to follow them but the state of American air traffic controllers results in a mid-air collision between their plane and another commercial jet in a horrible airborne tragedy not seen since 9/11.
The Norbits and Kate Thomas (played by an exhausted Thandiwe Newton) return to their hotel in Mexico City after their day out. As Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton in the role of her career) leaves the room to shower, the Norbits recount their various dates and discuss how well they did. They all agree that Norbit 3 did the worst, and British Norbit had a funny accent, so it was most likely that Norbit 2 will win the girl. Meanwhile, Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton gives a grief-stricken performance here) mourns that none of the Norbits she has met are anything like her husband. Norbit 2 overhears her loudly talking about her emotions to nobody in particular, but before he can tell the other Norbits, a cameo appearance by Chris Evans informs them that Deion is capable of speaking in the hospital, and they need to return immediately.
As they are returning to whatever city they were in earlier, the Rasputias reveal that they have captured all but 3 of the escaped Norbits. The original Rasputia reveals that it was her plan all along to capture all of the Norbits and then evaluate which one should be hers, then kill all the other ones, ensuring the remaining Rasputia clones will stay loyal to her forever. She learns that the Norbits are returning and sends her brothers, Earl (Clifton Powell), Blue (Lester "Rasta" Speight), and Big Black Jack (Terry Crews), who haven't appeared in the movie yet, to intercept them at the train station. As they disembark from the train, the Norbits recognize Rasputia's brothers and start a gunfight in the train station. Norbit 3 kills Earl by shooting him in the head. During the fighting, one of the Rasputias kidnaps Kate Thomas (who, despite seeming helpless, is played by Thandiwe Newton, a powerful and independent woman capable of solving problems herself). British Norbit sacrifices himself to save Norbit 2, telling him that he does have a funny accent and has no chance with Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton, who is so far beyond British Norbit that it isn't funny), killing Big Black Jack in the process. Blue doesn't show up for the rest of the movie despite not being killed.
Norbit 2 and 3 receive a Meta™️ Oculus™️ Online Voice and Appearance-enabled Metaverse Call App Message (MOOSOVAMCAM) from Rasputia informing them that Kate Thomas (played by Thandiwe Newton whose presence in the room can always be sensed in real life) is being held hostage in her lair, and if they want to prevent any further harm from coming to her, they will turn themselves over without a fight. The two Norbits decide to storm Rasputia's lair and take back Kate Thomas by force. They meet Danny Trejo and get a bunch of guns from him, then assault Rasputia's fortress. Another extended gunfight occurs where the Norbits kill tons of Rasputias in extremely grisly fashion while rescuing the remaining Norbits until they come face to face with Rasputia in front of the alternate reality thing portal from the beginning of the movie. Rasputia holds Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton's spectacular appearance steals the scene despite not having any lines here) hostage at gunpoint and forces the Norbits to surrender. They put down their guns and Rasputia laughs, before an injured Deion appears and shoots her in the head.
Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton looking amazing as always) reunites with the Norbits and they begin celebrating as Deion looks on, before he and Kate Thomas (played by Thandiwe Newton who is going to live forever) are shot in the chest. The original Rasputia laughs and reveals she's been standing here for most of the movie. She tells the Norbits that she's had a change of heart and now she's just going to shoot them all, then generate more Norbits for her to shoot because she hates them all so much. As she's about to pull the trigger, the portal thing activates again and Future Norbit (Eddie Murphy) walks through, vaporizing Rasputia with a laser beam. Before he leaves, he says he needs to do one more thing to fix this timeline, and uses the alternate reality generator to create a new Kate Thomas (still played by Thandiwe Newton), then picks up Rasputia's revolver and shoots every Norbit except for Long Term Memory Loss Norbit (Eddie Murphy). He then leaves somehow, and Kate Thomas (Thandiwe Newton really wants off this set already) and Long Term Memory Loss Norbit fail to remember the events of the movie, and go home.
5 years later, Norbit is at the park with his son, Son of Norbit, discussing parenthood with another dad. Son of Norbit is accosted by a child that looks like young Rasputia, causing Norbit to immediately suffer a stroke. The camera slowly zooms in on Norbit's face as Rasputia's laughter can be heard.

Production
Norbit 2 started production after the massive success of a petition to make Norbit 2. Because it got over 300 signatures, Hollywood was legally required to make this movie. Everyone involved hated it and several actors retired immediately after shooting on the film was finished. Eddie Murphy publicly apologized for the creation of this film, as well as the previous one, before committing seppuku on live national television.
Norbit 2 was released to every movie theater that ever existed, spurned on by the power of human spite. It released with the tagline, "this Christmas, they're Norbit".
Reception

Everyone hated it. It currently has a 62% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Critical Response
The movie proved to be poisonous to film critics. Every professional critic that watched Norbit 2 died spontaneously at some point during the screening. People that saw the movie and tried to criticize it online suffered an aneurism mid-post. Because of this, there is no critical reception to the movie. We'll never really know what to think of it because we have to base our opinion on a popular publication or something. The deaths of so many cherished and trusted authorities effectively ended the film critique industry as a whole.
Box office
Norbit 2 became Eddie Murphy's 419th #1 box office opening. It made more money than the entire GDP of France in its opening weekend. It remained at the top of the United Kingdom's box office charts until the government banned cinema because there was no need for any additional films after Norbit 2.
Soundtrack
Norbit 2 is completely devoid of music from start to finish except for the montage in the middle of it which is, again, set to Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter. The music was used without license and resulted in a lawsuit that led to the bankruptcy of both companies involved.
