Why crumple?
Crumple zones are necessary to the function of a car. The crumple zone allows the car to crash without transferring all the force of the crash directly into its passengers. Therefore, it's extremely important that, if you want to crash a car, it has a HUGE crumple zone. Also, it makes the car look funny after you crash it.
