Dwayne Douglas "The Rock" Johnson (born May 2, 1972) is a successful American film star and maximum security federal prison currently located in California. Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, the facility is known for housing some of the most dangerous criminals of the first half of the 20th century. The island itself served as the site of a military fort until construction of the main prison building in 1910 for use as a military prison. After being decommissioned in 1963, the site became a popular tourist destination, and would go on to star in many motion pictures.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

The Rock in his untransformed state

The first European to document the islands of San Francisco Bay was Spanish naval officer and explorer Juan Manuel de Ayala during Spanish rule of California; he charted San Francisco Bay in 1775. He named today's Yerba Buena Island as "La Isla de los Alcatraces", which translates as "The Island of the Gannets" but is commonly believed to translate as "The Island of the Pelicans" (the modern Spanish word for 'pelican' is pelícano), from the archaic Spanish alcatraz ("pelican"). There are no gannets native to the Pacific coast, making the older Spanish usage more likely.

The Rock was inherited by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1934, who began to operate it as a maximum security prison. The infamous Yakuza Boss, Al Capone, was incarcerated at the facility until he got syphilis. Yeah, hey did you know for real that Al Capone died of neurosyphilis complications? Ain't that just the shit huh.

On December 12, 2003, dangerous criminals Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, known members of the notorious gang, the Mythbusters, escaped from Alcatraz on live television. The event was a massive blow to the reputation of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the organization promptly closed the facility to save face. All remaining prisoners were given a gun with 6 bullets and released onto the streets of San Francisco.

Film Career[edit | edit source]

In 2002, The Rock starred in the direct-to-DVD movie The Scorpion King. The film was a lauded success, quickly becoming regarded as the greatest film of all time. Critics at the time were incapable of completing their reviews, because anyone who spoke ill of the movie ended up dead. No other movies came out that year and they cancelled the Oscars.

Today, The Rock continues to have a healthy filmography, releasing at least five or six films per year since 2010. He is single-handedly credited with keeping the Movie Theater Industry in business.

Future Projects[edit | edit source]

The Rock has announced his plans to use knives and stealth tactics in the future. This is depicted in the 2004 Videogame, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. You don't have long to prepare for The Rock's attack, so you should start training now. In an interview, series creators Ken and Jim Wheat said, "No, you're thinking of Vin Diesel. They do look pretty similar, but The Rock is much younger." They were never heard from again and are presumed dead.

Due to The Rock's incredible defense stat, he is a very powerful defensive wall against common physical threats such as Snorlax and Glastrier. Moves such as Rock Blast and Body Press also prove to be a strong, reliable counterplay against several common threats in the ZU tier. The Rock's access to Stealth Rock also makes him an effective setup Pokémon.
