[[Riolu]] is one of the secret Mario brothers that does not appear in the original Super Mario Bros without cheats. His other brothers are Mario, Luigi, Iolui, Uigiy, and Ariol. Riolu is notable for being the only Mario character that appears in Pokemon.

== History ==
Riolu is based on Shigeru Miyamoto's personal friend, Riolu.

Riolu was one of the co-founders of [[Platinum Games]] and is credited as executive producer on every Bayonetta game.

At the TGA game awards in 2024, Riolu was there. If you didn't watch the whole thing you missed him.

Riolu is going to be in Yakuza 9.

== In popular culture ==
Riolu is a recurring crossover character in the Pokemon franchise, first appearing in [[Pokemon Diamond and Pearl]]. He's pretty popular.
